Nice Places around USC: Watching

Most people's favorite places to go on the weekend...

Movie Theatres

AMC theatres are always cheaper than others since it has a discount for student with ID. But others might have a discount depends on time. Also see movie critics (rottentomatoes.com), and movie trailers (quicktime.com).

  1. AMC Century City 14 show | map -- the closest one, exit 10 west at Overland north, turn right at Santa Monica Blvd. But the quality is pretty bad and a bit hard to find parking space. Have a food center and near Gailson supermarket.

  2. AMC Norwalk 20 show | map -- the farest one but very good and 20 theatres in one place. Hard to find a regular restaurant nearby. I-5 South exit Norwalk Blvd. Cheapest ticket.

  3. AMC Burbank 14 show | map -- these 3 AMC are really close to each other (and IKEA ^^). If one place has ticket sold out, you could dash quickly to another ones. You couldn't miss it. Extremely hard to find parking space, esp since 2001 it's on some construction for years to come.

  4. AMC Media Center 8 show | map -- it's in the Mall. You would have to clime up several floors.

  5. AMC Media Center North 6 show | map -- it shares the same parking lots with IKEA and it has big seats.

  6. Loews Cineplex Universal Studios Cinema show | map -- It's in Universal City Walk in case you want to see some glamorous people.

  7. Loews Cineplex Beverly Center Cineplex show | map -- On the top floor of Beverly Center, it's convenient for the shoppers.

  8. Pacific's The Grove Stadium 14 show | map -- at The Grove another glamorous place but closer to USC, first opened Spring 2002.

  9. AMC Santa Monica 7 show | map -- there are a few cinemas nearby but this is the only chained one. Usually crowded. It's an emergency choice for someone walking in the 3rd St Promenade shopping street and suddenly want to see some non-indy movies. There're plenty of indy-only theatres around.

  10. Mann Chinese 6 at Kodak Theatre show | map -- the place where they held Oscar nomination show, at the heart of Hollywood. Easy parking, has many shopping places and restaurants, really really majestically grand, only 6 theatres and very expensive.

  11. Pacific Galleria Stadium 16 show | map -- One of the best theatre complex in LA but quite far about 30 mins or more drive and expensive. You could find movies that are not shown in other theatres here, easy parking.

  12. IMAX link | show[California Science Museum] | map -- There are 4 places that have IMAX theatres in LA, one of them is in the exposition park across the street from USC.
